The pillars of eternity 3 will have to make things happen, declares Obsidian Dev

The RPG series pillars of the Eternity seen its most recent entrance, pillars of eternity 2: Dead fire, launched last year with excellent critics but sold badly compared to the first game. It brought the fans to wonder if there was to be an pillars of eternity 3 but, according to Josh Sawyer, Developer of Obsidian Entertainment, the third game development team would need to re-examine the whole format of the whole format of the game If it considered creating another game in the style of previous entries.

Sawyer realized the two pillars of the Eternity, and he is currently the Obsidian Studio Design Director, but told someone who had asked him about Tumblr about a third pillars game that his development was not something I have to decide. He also stated that, because of the low sales of the second game, Obsidian would need to understand why he was selling so terribly.

The problem is that, without really understanding the reasons, it's hard to know how to move forward, Sawyer explained. It would be easier in some respects if Dead fire was also a colossal critical failure, and we could report the enormous mistakes we had to solve.

SAWYER mentioned that the players speculated that dead fire sold because of his real time fight with pause (TWP), but he mentioned this DIVINITY: Original sin 2 had the same fighting system but was a commercial success.

I'm sure some readers in this article think exactly why Dead fire has sold less well than pillar 1, said Sawyer. I do not have that confidence, that's one of the reasons why I'm afraid to try to run a suite. I could not give our audience (Obsidian) the game they wanted and without understanding where I went wrong, I would guess the problems and how to remedy it.

Our test of the game The Last of Us Part 1

In 2013, PlayStation 3 welcomed a game that would become one of the best infiltration and survival titles for Sony players. In 2014, PS4 players were able to have fun with the game The Las of Us Remastered. Subsequently, The Last of Us Part 2 appears and this time, the developers used a new engine so that the game is adapted to the PS5. With the HBO series of The Last of Us which is in development, it was the perfect opportunity for Sony to bring out a new version of the Thou game at full price for PS5 players. Is it successful? Yes, but we must admit that the game is sold at a little too high price to become an option for players who have already played the game. + Controls + The visual + History, always so poignant + Use of the dual sense -His price -Pour of those who have already played there

The vision of an independent developer for a RPG

Original text too short. In 2021, there were more than 60,000 Steam games. According to the statistics provided by Video Game Insights, 96% of these games are independent games. It seems that there is an influx of games developed independently. Yet, with this incredibly high percentage, independent games represent only 40% of steam sales. Why is it? Does this have to do with the fact that players are just not interested? With games like Among US and Latham, Hades and Fall Guys, this idea is hard to believe. Noah CAI developer, better known on the Internet under the name of Pixel Architect, has both a term and an explanation for this phenomenon. He calls it: Indiepocalypse. CAI, independent game developer and founder of World2studio, is currently working on his own game called RPG Chief. It refers to a term used by independent developers to designate the end of the golden age of the independent game. However, CAI has its own ideas about the phenomenon of Indiepocalypse. I think we...
