The heart of the fans of SNK and King of Fighters jumped a beat yesterday. On January 6, SNK had to get the trailer out of King of Fighters XV and unveil Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3, but it was postponed at the last minute. Then, the next day, they announced King of Fighters XIV Ultimate Edition, which has somehow surprised the fans. Later in the day, SNK hit us with a punch going from the front with their ads for the day before. Hitting your opponents while they are imbalanced is a good fighting tip, I suppose.
There will certainly be dozens of fighters, among which to choose, but the initial trailer shows only six of the most emblematic characters of the King of Fighters franchise. We see Kyo, Benimaru, Leona, May, K 'and the protagonist of the Shun'ei game. There is not a ton of variety shown here between the fast cuts of the match intros and super blows. The graphics seem more shaded than those of King of Fighters XIV, which makes the game a little clearer. The trailer ends with an expected release date somewhere in 2021 that SNK can hope to meet.
Last month, we received a teaser from Kof designers, showing a conceptual art for King of Fighters XV. The series has a colorful cast of characters to complete the list of this game, so I hope we will see more characters in the months to come. King of Fighters XV should go out in 2021 on undisclosed platforms.
